Lo switch GTL-2872 è uno switch di accesso Gigabit Ethernet con quattro porte di uplink 10G. Lo switch è ideale per i provider di servizi Internet (ISP) e gli operatori di sistemi multipli (MSO) per fornire agli utenti domestici servizi triple-play con una larghezza di banda fino a Gigabit. È anche uno switch di accesso Gigabit ideale per reti SMB, aziendali e universitarie. Lo switch GTL-2872 è ricco di funzionalità che offrono elevata disponibilità, sicurezza completa, robusto controllo multicast e QoS avanzato all'edge della rete, pur mantenendo una gestione semplice. Lo switch supporta anche la gestione IPv6 più avanzata, la sicurezza IPv6 e il controllo multicast IPv6 in conformità con la crescita della distribuzione IPv6. Gli ISP possono espandere i propri servizi da utenti domestici a utenti aziendali fornendo una rete più affidabile e resiliente (ITU-T G.8032 ERPS), VPN L2 e funzioni OAM (Operations, Administration, and Maintenance) avanzate per garantire accordi sul livello di servizio.
