Il convertitore di media Gigabit Ethernet adattivo GVT-2010 10/100/1000Mbps adotta la tecnologia di commutazione per realizzare la conversione dei media. È conforme agli standard IEEE802.3, IEEE802.3u, IEEE802.3z e IEEE802.3ab. Attualmente supporta due tipi di connessioni di rete media: 10Base-T/100Base-TX/1000Base-T e 1000Base-SX/LX, inter-conversione di segnali elettrici di coppie twisted 10Base-T/100Base-TX/1000Base-T con segnali ottici di 1000Base-SX/LX. Estende la distanza di trasmissione della rete da 100 m tramite cavo in rame a 100 km tramite cavo in fibra ottica. GVT-2010 supporta la funzione 802.3at/af POE-PD. Può assorbire l'alimentazione tramite cavo UTP collegato a uno switch POE-PSE o un iniettore mid-span. Questa funzione rende il GVT-2010 ideale per le aree remote di una rete senza prese di corrente
